About

Invisible Spirits was started by calligrapher Clarence Wee from Craft Varies, as an outlet for his constant evolving expression of Art in both the physical and digital world. Initially started as a personal pursuit, Invisible Spirits now serves to represent artists and creators of different fields. Following his exploration into other avenues for his craft, such as AI Art and NFTs, Clarence saw a gap for a platform where like-minded artists and creators could explore and express their craft in both physical and digital forms.

Through the exploration of ‘nothingness’ through typography, it brings up what has always been a fascination of how shapes constructed are put together that we were taught made sounds to verbalise our understanding of an intangible thought transmitting seamlessly into another humans mind. Such ancient futuristic technology.. simply overlooked.. what is the value of these shapes and does the shapes truly have a meaning?

How can those meanings be now strung together to create images?
This opened the world of
AI Art

My Process of imagination comes from using words to best describe my emotions,
I’m nothing but a vessel to my emotions but if I create enough distance from my thoughts..maybe one day I can see myself for who I am.
I’ll be working with Midjourney, Affinity, Procreate and more to create my works. I try to maintain some realism and simplicity in the art, letting the varies quiet longings speak for itself. Making the art look pleasing yet questionable.

The Purpose is to put into reality what words have traumatised or have been of value to me in my life. There is no right or wrong, only what ifs.
By asking more questions is my first step to recognising who I am.

‘Spirit Language’

Thus comes the creation of ‘Spirit Language’ a Eastern Calligraphy inspired script that says nothing in its native language. Breaking the mould of the perceive understanding and stripping the value of what a word represents. Anarchy to the world of the ancient futuristic technology. Tricking not just native linguists but also opens the conversation of thought and curiosity to the unbeknownst. Questioning not just oneself but others as well. But coded secretly in its DNA is inversely the noted expression of the english language. So to understand.. does it mean relearning shapes? What is that value of learning a new.. unfounded.. unused.. illegible shape? And so the beginning of exploring and experiencing the spirit of ‘nothingness’ or is there somethingness?
